Project Director, Auckland Electrification Project
Auckland Electrification is a NZD$500m project to deliver rail infrastructure in Auckland capable of supporting suburban electric train services.
- Established the project mandate and obtained Board approval after funding and general scope approval was given by the NZ government.
- Developed and managed complex stakeholder relationships – local authorities, neighbour utilities, potential suppliers, rail operators, public.
- Designed a project team structure and then recruited the key members after a search in NZ and Australia.
- Developed procurement strategies for major professional services and physical works contracts, tendered and selected suppliers - including professional services and railway signalling.
- Worked with engineering groups, rail service owners/operators and other players to establish key technical Interface specification.
