Delivery of rail infrastructure maintenance and renewals

• General Manager responsible for management of rail infrastructure repair, maintenance and renewals across the New Zealand national network, in addition to supporting major suburban rail developments and customer projects to support new/increased business.
• Provision of agreed service levels to train operators, according to route hierarchy. A key focus was “on time trains” which required minimal unplanned en route delays and an effective response to any out of course events.
• Management of in house resources and contractors to deliver safety, service, and physical work outputs.
• Business planning and objective setting. Establishment of standardised system of targets and reporting linked to corporate objectives and service levels, including development of a suite of productivity measures. Led re engineering project for electric traction asset maintenance and renewals.
• Business co owner for development and introduction of a works management and asset management system requiring implementation of significant business changes.
