• Responsible for process safety and occupational health and safety of large workforce undertaking major physical works in a complex environment.
• Introduced behavioural safety programme; established a dedicated function to provide operational technical training and compliance observation; sponsored a major review and revision of safe working at heights training.
• Led company wide safety review and realignment project which resulted in implementation of a new centrally focussed organisation structure for safety.
• Led development of new “safety case” document required for rail regulator approval and licencing.
